Earth Day: Our Commitment to the Web of Life

On this Earth Day, let us take a moment to honour and give thanks to the land, sky, and sea that sustain us.

May we recognise the Earth is not just a resource for us to exploit, but a sacred web of interconnected beings, each with its own unique spirit. We have forgotten that we are not separate from nature, but rather an integral part of it. This disconnection has caused great harm to the natural world, and to ourselves.

In order to heal this sacred relationship with the Earth, we must do the work of reconnecting with the web of life. We must seek to understand the intricate connections between all living beings and the delicate balance of ecosystems. We must learn from the wisdom of indigenous cultures who have lived in harmony with the Earth for centuries.

This work is not easy, and it requires us to challenge the dominant narratives of Western culture that prioritise human progress and domination over nature. But through our spiritual practices, we can cultivate a deep sense of connection and reverence for the natural world.

As we celebrate Earth Day, let us commit ourselves to this sacred work of reconnection and healing. Let us honour the land, sky, and sea that sustain us, and vow to protect and honour them always.

The land beneath our feet, with its rich soil and towering trees, provides us with nourishment and shelter. The sky above, with its ever-changing clouds and shimmering stars, reminds us of the infinite possibilities of the universe. And the sea, with its ebb and flow, sustains life in all its forms.

It is our duty to ensure that all life may thrive, not just for ourselves but also for the future generations of all beings.

Let us give thanks to the land, sky, and sea, and vow to protect and honour them always. May the ancenstors guide us on this path of reverence and respect for the natural world.
